Fantastic Review for Destroying the Wrong!!

Between the Sheets Book Reviews

http://sgrass222.wordpress.com/

This book is great for young adults to read due to the subject matter. Bullying is something that is very real, and it’s happening everywhere. Those who are being bullied, are the ones that stay in the background and try to stay out of everyone’s way. This was the situation with Katherine. Unfortunately when things happen, the victim suffers in silence because they don’t want anyone to know about it.

Alissa and Katherine are best friends. I’m not really sure how I feel about Alissa’s character. Alissa has a great family, a wonderful friend and a boyfriend, and somehow that isn’t enough for her. I can relate to Katherine’s character being the one in school that always wanted to stay in the background.
Matt, who is Alissa’s boyfriend is a sweetheart.  He’s loving, patient and kind. He has no problem with showing Alissa how he feels.
Matt and Alissa start going to meetings to help prevent bullying and also decided to take some self defense lessons in case someone needed the help. Alissa is introduced to Scott, who is the owner of the gym and runs the bullying class. Alissa immediately starts to feel an attraction towards him.
I’m not liking Scott’s character. I can’t tell you why because I don’t want to spoil it for you. He seems all nice on the outside but he has his own agenda.
I give this book 5 stars due to the important message received from this book I look forward to reading book 2 when the girls are off to college.

Review by Courtney

Alissa and Katherine are best friends.  Dealing with the drama of high school, being a teen girl and just growing up in general they are a constant in each other’s lives.  While Alissa begins a relationship with Matt, Katherine is on her own in the craziness that is teenage girl-dom. However, no matter the directions that their lives take, they are always there for one another as support and best friends.

Beginning this book, I thought that main theme would be bullying.  While it was a large focus, there were so many other themes within this story that just hit the nail on the head.  Being a teenager is hard, being a teenage girl can be hell! It was easy for me to relate to both characters, to understand them and in a way to be there with them emotionally with what they were dealing with.  Alissa and Kat go through some serious issues between their Junior and Senior years in high school.  I admire their friendship, that no matter what is going on in their lives they always turn to one another instead of deserting each other.  There were a few unresolved issues at the end of the book, but I am extremely anxious to see how the rest of the story unfolds and what lies ahead for Alissa and Katherine. 5 out of 5 books
